Why Reading?
Reading to your child from an early age helps them to develop listening skills, build their vocabulary, and creates a foundation between letters and sounds. As children get older, much of their academic success is influenced by their ability to read.
Why STEM?
STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education encourages curiosity, creativity, and ingenuity in order to solve real world problems. With experimentation, your child will not only gain confidence, but will learn to accept failure and how to learn from what did not work in order to find a solution that does.
Why Art?
Art has a wide variety of benefits, from developing fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving skills, to processing their emotions and the world around them in a safe way. It also is a source of beauty and expression.
Why Sensory?
Sensory play builds your child’s ability to use their small muscle groups and coordinate movements which is necessary to be able to tie shoes, zip a coat, or write with a pencil. Sensory play can be used to help regulate your child’s emotions and helps to develop language skills.

WHO WE ARE
Curious Kids Lab was started by Amanda Miller, a former teacher turned homeschool mom. While studying Architectural Engineering during college, she worked for a children’s museum. There, she created exhibits by taking complex science topics and broke them down into engaging, hands-on activities that children could understand. After falling in love with watching children begin to comprehend the world around them, she changed to education and has been working with children ever since.
After teaching pre-k for 10 years, she now homeschools her two children and works within her homeschool community to help supplement the education of other students.
